Disabled Holidays in Limburg
In a country which is characterised by its flatness and lack of hills and mountains, the dutch province of Limburg is a notable exception. Although Limburg's hills are by no means high or a mountaineering dream, they do represent a welcome change to the otherwise flat landscape in The Netherlands, not in the least for the Dutch locals, which regard Limburg as a national holiday destination.
People from Limburg are considered relaxed and laid back and traditionally it has known a culture of great food and drink. Limburg, which is predominantly catholic, also produces many beers, many with a rich history in local monasteries.
Main cities such as Maastricht; famous for hosting the 1991 summit which saw the EU established; and Venlo are bustling tourist cities and especially in southern Limburg you will find some beautiful caves, which are open to tourists. Close to Belgium, Germany, Luxembourg and even France, Limburg is also a perfect location to explore more of this particular part of Europe.
