Description
A down to earths outdoor experience full of comfort and luxury. A Yurt is a traditional portable house used by nomads in central Asia and Mongolia. They are also fantastic for glamping holidays in Dorset!
Relaxing! This is a big part of yurt-life and our yurts are exceptionally good for this, being warm and comfortable, furnished with a double bed and two day beds, cushions and a cheerful wood-burning stove. So you can lounge about and chat, read, play games and warm your toes.
Night life! Listen to the fox bark and the owls hoot while you look up at the night sky through the clear perspex roof dome. The sky here is fantastic for star-gazing; as there is no large cities nearby so the sky is very dark and the stars are very bright and very beautiful.
The yurts also come equipped with electric sockets. Which means you also get electric lighting, a single ring hob and the sockets so you can bring your gadgets along with you.
Accessibility
The yurts now offer glamping for people with disabilities. The site is level, with well-lit smooth paths, and there are ramps available so that wheelchair users can access the yurts. The traditional doorways are 132cm high by 67cm wide, this is to be noted the doorway is below the minimum for wheel chair access. Previous customers have told us that a manual wheelchair can just about fit in, whereas an electric wheelchair will need a transfer to enter the yurt.
The interior of the yurts are all similar with a carpeted floor, a double bed and two single day beds. The beds have all got space under to accommodate a hoist. There is room to use a profiling bed, which may be hired in. There is ample wheelchair turning space throughout the yurt and plenty of access to either side of the double bed.
There is level access to all the communal areas and we can supply commode chairs for the private wet rooms, which all have adapted shower heads and extra long hoses. All yurts have their own separate fridges in the communal kitchen, meaning that people special dietary needs or allergies can be accommodated without fear of cross-contamination. However when booking please ensure you tell the travel agents so that they can make sure individual needs are met upon your arrival.
Please note the entrance door widths are below minimum. In addition the wet-room is separate from the Yurt.
