The DHD website is operated by Discover Holidays Ltd, a specialist travel agency based in Mossley near Manchester.
We understand both the difficulties that a disabled holiday maker can face and the worry that this causes. Our job is to take away that worry by providing you with all the support you need at every step including choosing, booking, preparing to go, travelling, holidaying and coming home.

Sally Anne:
Has been in the travel
industry since 1993 so has a wealth of knowledge and expertise.
Sally Anne is a cruise expert and has cruised on the majority of
the worlds cruise liners, she also specialises in bespoke
tailor-made holidays & tours and luxury travel.
Samantha:
Has been in the travel
industry since 1996 and can assist customers in finding that
perfect holiday. Samantha is a specialist in Mauritius & South
Africa but having a young family she also has in-depth personal
knowledge of the European family holiday market and can help to
find those much sought after free child places and special
offers.
Kimberley:
Has personal knowledge of Australia having travelled around the country herself. She is also an expert on the UK holiday market and can help to find the perfect UK hotel, Lodge, Holiday Park or Cottage for that family getaway or romantic weekend away.
Laura:
Helps the team by sending out
our customer confirmations and tickets. Laura also produces our
customer travel packs which feature important and useful
information on the resort and hotel our customers are traveling
to.
Bethany:
Web content editor and maker
of extremely good cup cakes.
Gillian:
Gillian has 13 years travel
industry experience and has travelled all over the world herself so
can advise on an amazing array of holidays and far flung
destinations.
Beth:
Beth has 5 years experience in
the travel industry and has travelled around Greece and Europe
extensively; she has extensive cruise knowledge.
Paul:
Paul is the Managing Director
of the company. He aspires to change holiday making for the better
by sourcing more choices, reducing prices, improving service and
creating an place where travellers can share their holiday
experiences and learn from each other.
Sam:
Sam is the genius behind the
web site graphics. He has skilfully created the beautiful web
site.
Ian:
Ian is the mastermind behind the inner workings of our web site. He also ensures that the web site is available for you at 3:52am on Saturday morning (as well as any other time you care to browse).
Jonathan:
Takes care of all the accounts
in the business, he ensures that your holiday and money is 100%
safe by making sure your money goes into our bonded account!
History of the DHD
The Disabled Holiday Directory was launched in 2001 by a bright lady called Sian (Welsh for Jane and pronounced Shahn). Sian has suffered since childhood with Peroneal Muscular Atrophy (CMT). Her own difficulties over the years looking through countless brochures at tempting cottages, guest houses, hotels and caravans, but not finding any information that would enable HER with HER disability to decide whether it would be suitable for HER holiday led to a sense of hopeless frustration.
Just over eight years ago, after many years experience working in the holiday industry, a personal ultimate frustration of lack of detail led Sian to wonder whether she could do something about it and help everyone - and it is estimated that there are now over 9 million plus of us suffering from some sort of impairment.
After much research Sian was able to launch this Disabled Holiday Directory website. Still working from home, but ably supported by her husband John and Peter her PA, she has been helping people find the holidays they really want.
In June 2008 Sian decided to retire and sold the web site to its current owner who wants to continue the ethos of the website into the next decade.
